Jana Kütt is a versatile Estonian musician known for her work as a jazz vocalist, composer, lyricist, arranger, vocal teacher, and radio show host. She’s active across a wide range of genres—from free improvisation and jazz to pop, folk, and experimental music—and is a member of several bands that reflect her eclectic tastes. Most notably, she leads See Pole See Trio, which reimagines Soviet-era Estonian pop songs with a blend of Scandinavian soundscapes, pop harmonies, and improvised freedom, featuring an unusual mix of vocals, saxophone, bass, accordion, and effects.
In addition to her trio, Jana has contributed to albums like “Värvid” with the Jana Kütt Group (instrumental jazz with vocalese), “Metsaunelm” with the jazz-folk-pop band Pillikud, and the avant-garde ensemble IHA, which merges poetry with surreal musical backdrops. She’s also recorded as a backing vocalist for the soul-jazz band Maarja Aarma MA and with Tuuli Pruul on the album “Moment”. Jana is deeply involved in the music community as a vocal teacher at a major Estonian music school and as a radio host, and her work continues to evolve, including recent collaborative releases such as “I-95” (2025). Her passion for musical exploration and commitment to creative development shine through in both her performances and her multifaceted career.
