Luk, stylized as Lюk, was a Ukrainian music band from Kharkiv, formed in 1999. Their unique sound blended elements of acid jazz, lounge, and rock. The band's lyrics often featured Ukrainian, Russian, and French, reflecting their diverse cultural influences. Luk collaborated with notable figures such as Serhiy Zhadan, a Ukrainian writer, and Andriy Zaporozhets from the band 5'Nizza. Their discography includes albums like "Tourist Zone" (2002), "Lemon" (2004), "Sex" (2005), and "Мамина юность" (Mamina Yunost, 2009). The band members included Olha Gerasimova on vocals, Oleh Serdyuk on keyboards, Serhiy Belmas on bass, Velentyn Panyuta on guitar, and Oleksandr Kratinov on drums. Luk disbanded in 2011.
Luk's music often incorporated themes and collaborations that highlighted their eclectic style. Their work with Serhiy Zhadan, in particular, contributed to their distinctive sound, as seen in their first album, "Tourist Zone," which was based on Zhadan's play "Merry Christmas, Jesus Christ." The band's blend of genres and languages made them a notable part of Ukraine's music scene during their active years.
