GAIA is a collaboration between two of trance music's most iconic names: Dutch DJ and producer Armin van Buuren and fellow Dutch producer Benno de Goeij of Rank 1. The duo's project draws its name from the ancient Greek Earth goddess, which reflects the project's melding of nature-inspired mystique with electronic rhythms. GAIA first took shape in the minds of trance enthusiasts during the early 2000s, although it wasn't until around 2009 that Armin van Buuren publicly acknowledged the collaboration during a live performance.

Since their formation, GAIA has become a beloved act within the trance community, known for deep, atmospheric beats and a spiritual approach to electronic music that often invokes a cosmic or terrestrial thematic presence. Their series of releases titled "Moons Of Jupiter" conceptualizes this ethos, serving as a grand odyssey through sound and space. Each release gets inspiration from one of the celestial bodies orbiting the planet Jupiter, translating these cosmic influences into entrancing melodies and pulsating rhythms. The remix of their acclaimed track "Tuvan" in 2021 by AVIRA breathes a new life into an already popular number, showcasing GAIA's continual evolution and impact on the dance music landscape.
