Mikael Konttinen

Mikael Konttinen is a Finnish singer born on February 23, 1984, in Sollentuna, Sweden, but raised in Pylkönmäki, Finland. He currently resides in Helsinki. Konttinen's musical journey began at a young age, and he studied pop/jazz music at Helsinki Polytechnic. He gained significant attention by performing at the Finnish Independence Day festivities in 2006, which led to a recording contract and the release of his debut album "Tuntematon tie" in 2008. His music style combines elements of schlager and pop, with a keen interest in traditional dance orchestra music.

Konttinen has released several albums, including "Ota kiinni" (2010) and "Hurmaavia aamuja" (2016). He also participated in the Eurovision Song Contest qualifiers in 2008 with the song "Milloin." Beyond his solo work, Konttinen has collaborated with female artists in his music series "Mikaelin Naiset," where they perform songs meaningful to them alongside him. He is also a songwriter, contributing to his own albums and collaborating with other artists, such as Gugi. In addition to his music career, Konttinen has pursued a second profession as a commercial pilot.
