Mikael Konttinen is a Finnish singer born on February 23, 1984, in Sollentuna, Sweden, but raised in Pylkönmäki, Finland. He currently resides in Helsinki. Konttinen's musical journey began at a young age, and he studied pop/jazz music at Helsinki Polytechnic. He gained significant attention by performing at the Finnish Independence Day festivities in 2006, which led to a recording contract and the release of his debut album "Tuntematon tie" in 2008. His music style combines elements of schlager and pop, with a keen interest in traditional dance orchestra music.
Konttinen has released several albums, including "Ota kiinni" (2010) and "Hurmaavia aamuja" (2016). He also participated in the Eurovision Song Contest qualifiers in 2008 with the song "Milloin."
