Tullycraft is a seminal indie pop band from Seattle, Washington, known for helping define and popularize the twee pop genre in the United States during the 1990s and 2000s. Formed in 1995 by vocalist Sean Tollefson, guitarist Gary Miklusek, and drummer Jeff Fell, the band quickly gained underground notoriety with their debut album Old Traditions, New Standards, which included the beloved anthem “Pop Songs Your New Boyfriend’s Too Stupid to Know About.” Their playful, jangly sound, clever lyrics, and DIY aesthetic became hallmarks of the twee pop scene.
Over the years, Tullycraft has remained a cult favorite while expanding their lineup and releasing a series of well-regarded albums, including Disenchanted Hearts Unite (2005), Every Scene Needs a Center (2007), and The Railway Prince Hotel (2019). They’ve maintained their charm and uncompromising indie spirit, all while creating music that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Tullycraft continues to be a touchstone for fans of earnest, upbeat, and literate guitar pop.
