Jejune was an American **emo band formed in 1996** at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where the three founding members—Arabella Harrison (bass/vocals), Joe Guevara (guitar/vocals), and Chris Vanacore (drums)—met while studying. The band quickly became influential in the emo scene during the "second wave" of the mid-1990s. After relocating to San Diego in 1997, they released two albums on Big Wheel Recreation: *Junk* (1997) and *This Afternoon's Malady* (1998), along with several splits, including a notable one with Jimmy Eat World. Known for their energetic live shows and creative early recordings (which Harrison herself helped produce at Blue Jay Studios), Jejune became a respected name in indie emo circles.
However, internal tensions over the band's musical direction ultimately led to their split in early 2000. That same year, Big Wheel Recreation released *R.I.P.*, a compilation featuring completed demos and unreleased material from the band's planned third album. After the breakup, the members pursued various projects—Guevara, Vanacore, and another member formed Lovelight Shine, while Harrison went on to join The And/Ors and later pursued a solo career, occasionally joined by Vanacore on drums.
