The Alien Dub Orchestra

The Alien Dub Orchestra is a creative, somewhat eclectic collective of Bavarian musicians that includes members from influential bands like The Notwist and G.Rag y los hermanos Patchekos. They formed around the concept of performing and reinterpreting the works of dub artist Elijah Minnelli, whose "Breadminster Songbook" blends folk, dub, and cumbia influences into something quite unique. Their album *Plays the Breadminster Songbook* reimagines Minnelli’s music through a rich mix of instruments like guiro, accordion, melodica, sousaphone, and trumpet, highlighting a vibrant fusion of dub reggae and folk sensibilities. The collaboration began after a Munich gig supporting The Notwist, where musicians teamed up to create new takes on Minnelli’s dub remixes, leading to further recordings and live shows.
