Resurrection Band

Resurrection Band, often known simply as Rez Band or REZ, is a Christian rock band that emerged from the Jesus People USA community in Chicago in the early 1970s. The band was a pioneer in the Christian rock scene, fusing the elements of hard rock and blues with an evangelical message. They were known for their raw intensity, heavy guitar work, and the gritty vocals of husband-and-wife duo Glenn Kaiser and Wendi Kaiser. Resurrection Band's musical output often tackled social issues and struggles of faith, setting them apart in their genre for both their sound and lyrical content.

Over the decades, Resurrection Band's musical style evolved, touching upon various rock subgenres, including hard rock, heavy metal, and the blues. Albums like "Colours" (1980) and "Silence Screams" (1988) exemplify their ability to blend melody with message, while "Civil Rites" (1991) and "Innocent Blood" (1993) show a band unafraid to address controversial societal issues within their music. The band's longevity is celebrated in "XX Years Live", a release marking two decades of their influential presence in Christian music. Although they disbanded in the late 1990s, their legacy continues to impact the genre, with a discography that remains a touchstone for fans of faith-based rock.
