Havoc & Prodeje

Havoc & Prodeje were a dynamic rap duo hailing from South Central Los Angeles, prominently known for their contributions to the West Coast hip hop scene during the 1990s. Both members, Havoc (born Cary Calvin) and Prodeje (born Austin Patterson), emerged from the prolific and influential rap collective known as South Central Cartel, which carved its niche in the industry with raw narratives about life on the streets and the struggles faced by those within the urban communities.

The duo broke into the scene with the release of their debut album, “Livin' in a Crime Wave,” in 1993, a record that not only showcased their gritty lyrical storytelling but also reflected the harsh realities of Los Angeles' gang culture and the societal issues of the time. Their subsequent releases, “Kickin' Game” in 1994 and “Truez Neva Stop” in 1997, solidified Havoc & Prodeje’s standing as underground legends, further etching their names in the West Coast rap annals. With their uncompromising style and authentic street narratives, Havoc & Prodeje gave voice to the experiences of many young African Americans in LA, impacting the rap genre with their hard-hitting beats and insightful lyrical prowess.
