Internal Decay

**Internal Decay** is a Swedish melodic death metal band that kicked off in the late '80s, forming officially in **1989** in Stockholm (though some roots trace back to 1987), with early activity around Sölvesborg too. They dropped their classic debut album *A Forgotten Dream* in 1993, recorded at the legendary Sunlight Studios and featuring tracks like **"To Each His Own Pain"** and **"The Anguish of Twilight"**, channeling heavy themes of depression, sorrow, and darkness with a lineup including vocalist Kim Blomkvist, guitarists Micke Jakobsson and Willy Maturana, drummer Tobbe Sjöblom, and keys from Karim Elomary.

After some quiet years, the band reunited in **2009** and has been crushing it since, putting out fresh releases like the *Malformation of Flesh* EP in 2024 on Iron Fortress Records, plus *Malignant* in 2023 and even *Reanimated Putrescence* slated for 2025—proving these Stockholm death metal vets are still bringing the gloom in style.
