Julius-Jeongwon Kim, widely regarded as Korea's best pianist of his generation, was born on July 23, 1975, in Seoul, South Korea. He is celebrated for his poetic sensitivity and energetic performances, which have captivated audiences worldwide. As a child prodigy, Kim won numerous international competitions, including the Maria Canals International Piano Competition, the Bösendorfer International Piano Competition, and the Elena Rombro Stepanow International Piano Competition. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris.
Kim has performed with renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony, Vienna Symphony, Czech Philharmonic, and the Seoul Philharmonic. Notable performances include appearances at the International Chopin Festival, the Beethoven Easter Festival, and the Verbier Festival. He has released several albums, featuring works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, and Tchaikovsky. Kim is also the musical director of NAVER's "V Salon Concert" and has been an artist in residence at Sejong Art Center and Lotte Concert Hall. His recent recordings include **Chopin's Last Piano Works** and **Schubert Piano Sonatas**, showcasing his versatility across various classical compositions.
