Greenwheel

Greenwheel is an American alternative rock band that formed in 1999 in St. Charles, Missouri, originally coming together as high school friends under the name Hindsight before briefly going by Soma Holiday. Their early self-released album gained local attention, but it was after renaming themselves Greenwheel and releasing a four-song demo that they caught the attention of Island Records, who signed them. Their major-label debut album, *Soma Holiday*, produced by Malcolm Springer, came out in 2002 and included the single "Breathe," which became well-known especially after Melissa Etheridge covered it, earning a Grammy nomination. The band toured extensively following their debut, opening for groups like Our Lady Peace and Hoobastank.

Despite initial major-label success, Greenwheel later parted ways with Island Records and continued independently, releasing a five-song EP, *Bridges For Burning*, in 2006. Known for their tight live performances and dedication to their craft, they have remained active in the alternative rock scene, with recent releases including the 2025 album *Chrononaut Ballads of the Broken Frontier* and singles like "Rusted Crown" and "Toxic Touch." The band members—Ryan Jordan, Brandon Armstrong, Andrew Dwiggins, Douglas Randall, and Marc Wanninger—have often described Greenwheel as more of a family than just a band.
