Det Norske Kammerkor was a Norwegian chamber choir that existed from the late 1970s until 1992. The choir originated in the student environment at Volda Teacher Training College and was led by Per Oddvar Hildre. During its active years, Det Norske Kammerkor released five albums, including *Dalilas Barbershop*, *Til Oslo for å gjere seg feit*, *Jonas Ørstavik – World Tour I*, *Vinjesvingen*, and *Bound for bygda*. The choir won the Spellemannprisen in 1986 for *Vinjesvingen* in the open class category. They collaborated with notable figures like Geirr Lystrup, who contributed as a lyricist, and Ytre Suløens Jassensemble.
Det Norske Kammerkor was known for its innovative approach under Hildre's direction, which made them one of Norway's leading choirs. Their music often featured a blend of traditional and modern elements, as seen in projects like *Bound for bygda*, which was sponsored by agricultural organizations and aimed to promote rural life through music. Despite their unique contributions to Norwegian music, the choir disbanded in 1992.
