Warkunt

Warkunt is a death metal band from Strasbourg, France, formed in 2016 by a group of friends who initially bonded over playing covers but soon started writing their own material, releasing their debut EP Tor(n)ment and building a reputation for an old-school, riff-heavy sound. Their music channels the classic North American death metal vibe, focusing on speed, power, and a raw, aggressive approach—often summed up by their own motto, “Play fast, loud, and bad”.

The band quickly made a name for themselves in the regional scene, sharing stages with heavyweights like Benighted, Hate, Noctem, and even opening for international acts such as Cannibal Corpse and Rotting Christ. Their discography includes the full-length albums Of Ruins and Agony (2018), A New March of Death, and Cyclonic Abyss (2025), showcasing a consistent evolution in their brutal, riff-driven style. Over the years, Warkunt has seen some lineup changes, but their commitment to unrelenting death metal has remained a constant.
