LEX

LEX, born Alexis Lanaras on September 25, 1984, in Thessaloniki, Greece, is a highly influential Greek rapper and one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Greek hip-hop. Starting his career in 1999 with the group Voreia Asteria, LEX became a pioneer of rap music in North Greece. Later, he formed Anapoda Kapela with Mikros Kleftis, a rap duo known for their impactful tracks like "O Tipas Pou Den Pas." In 2014, he released his debut solo album "Tapeinoi kai Peinasmenoi," which garnered massive acclaim for its vivid portrayal of urban reality through his signature slow flow and raw lyrics. His subsequent albums, such as "2XXX" (2018) and "Metro" (2022), further solidified his position as a leading artist in Greek hip-hop, with hits like "Tipota Ston Kosmo" and "Oxi Simera" achieving Gold and Platinum certifications.

LEX's success is marked by numerous sold-out concerts, including a historic performance at the Petra Theater in Athens in 2019, where he became the first solo hip-hop act to perform in front of over 10,000 attendees. His recent releases include "Varane," "Epiloges," and the album "Metro," which have been well-received by audiences. In 2022, he performed at Kautanzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki, drawing a crowd of approximately 30,000—a record for a hip-hop concert in Greece. LEX is widely regarded as Greece's number one hip-hop artist and continues to innovate within the genre. His most recent album, "G.T.K.," has also achieved significant success, with tracks like "Nychterides" and "Alitiki Agapi" garnering millions of streams on Spotify.
