Olof Lindgren

Olof Sigurd Lindgren is a Swedish composer, music educator, conductor, and multi-instrumentalist, born on October 25, 1934, in Visby. He studied music at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and began his career as a cornetist in a military band. Lindgren held various positions, including being the director of the music school in Tranås from 1958 to 1975 and conducting several orchestras such as the Tranås Orkesterförening and the Gävleborgs Orkesterförening. He was also a kapelmeester in the military band Nedre Norrland and later became the director of the music school in Krokom until 1991.

As a composer, Lindgren's works include classical pieces like "Flammor vid fjällets fot." His contributions to music also extend to being a published author, with titles such as "Swedish Choral Music: A Selective Catalogue" in 1988. Lindgren's diverse career reflects his dedication to both performance and education in music.
