Greaternity

Greaternity is a Christian music project led by singer/songwriter Bobby Joe Owens (also known as Robert J. Thompson) based in Virginia Beach, VA. The project emerged in 2022 after Owens experienced a profound spiritual rebirth in the fall of 2021, sparked by a near-death experience involving his then-fiancé (now wife) Anna. Greaternity's music blends elements of Christian Country, Christian Hip Hop, and 90s electronic rock to deliver powerful, faith-driven messages. Owens writes and performs songs from a deeply personal and spiritual perspective, often portraying Jesus in the first person, as seen in tracks like "The Son of Man," "Trust My Word," and the joyful anthem "Name Drop Jesus".

Greaternity’s mission is to glorify God through original song messages that invite listeners to explore or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ without pressure but through inspiration and example. Their latest releases, including “Planting Seed,” focus on sharing love and faith in gentle, approachable ways grounded in biblical teachings, such as the Parable of the Sower. The project has gained attention for its heartfelt lyrics, musical diversity, and uplifting spirit, with plans to release a double album of 20+ songs featuring a mix of genres and styles influenced by Owens’ unique artistic vision and spiritual calling.
