Channel Aid is a supergroup of musicians who came together in 1985 to record the charity single "We Are the World" for famine relief in Africa. The group was organized by Harry Belafonte, Ken Kragen, and Lionel Richie, and featured some of the biggest names in music at the time, including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Tina Turner. The single was a huge success, selling over 20 million copies worldwide and raising millions of dollars for charity. Channel Aid has since reunited for several other benefit concerts and recordings, including a 2010 performance at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
