**E.R. Jurken**, aka Ed, hails from Milwaukee, born in the late '70s or early '80s, and now calls Chicago home after dipping in and out of music for decades. He's got that wayward son vibe from the 414 area code, crafting surreal, harmony-packed songs that nod to a century of American pop, from baroque folk-pop to rock 'n' roll with a twist—think Byrds fans and Beachwood Sparks lovers digging his high tenor and vocal choirs.
His debut *I Stand Corrected* dropped in 2021 on Country Thyme Records (a label made just for him!), where he mostly played everything himself, delivering a haunted, orchestral pop song cycle full of riches-to-rags feels and tracks like "Colonels of the Morning," "Maine Man," "John Doe," and "Right Through." Five years later, he's back with *To Be Continued* (out Jan 30, 2026), cranking it up with Chicago's Junegrass power trio, producer pals at The Loft, and lush strings/horns from Paul Von Mertens—songs like "I Do," "Mighty and Concealed," and "Main Man" mix gospel, country rock, and psych-folk swagger, facing down life's curveballs with tuneful grit. Catch him live at The Hideout for the release bash!
