The Kokomo Kings are a Swedish roots-blues band known for their electrifying, no-nonsense approach to American roots music. Formed in 2012, the band aims to deliver gritty, groovy Saturday-night music that's built for dancing and made with deep blues passion. Their sound is described as a fiery mix of Mississippi juke joint boogie, swamp pop, hillbilly, and gospel influences, earning them a reputation as "more rock'n'roll than rock'n'roll" with energy cranked up to 11. The lineup features Martin Abrahamsson on vocals and guitar, Magnus Lanshammar on bass, Jonas Holmberg on guitar, and Daniel Winerö on drums.
Since their debut with the single "Artificial Natural" in 2012 and full-length album of the same name in 2013, The Kokomo Kings have consistently impressed blues and rock'n'roll fans. They've released several acclaimed albums including "Too Good to Stay Away From" (2017), "Fighting Fire with Gasoline" (2019), and "A Drive-By Love Affair" (2021). Their energetic live shows and authentic sound have earned them accolades such as "Band of the Year 2018" and "Entertainers of the Year 2021" from The Blues Lounge Radio Show, as well as a nomination as Best Rockabilly Band at the Ameripolitan Music Awards in Memphis. The band regularly tours across Europe, bringing their irresistible down-home blues to clubs and festivals from Sweden to Spain.
