**brkfstblend** is a Tokyo-based trio formed in the summer of 2023, featuring Michael Kaneko (vocals/guitar), Keity (bass, formerly of Lucky Tapes), and Tetsushi Kasuya (drums, formerly of Yogee New Waves). Each member brought over a decade of experience in the Asian music scene, having played at major festivals like Fuji Rock and Summer Sonic, as well as touring across Asia. Their sound is a fresh yet nostalgic fusion of '60s and '70s American AOR (Adult Oriented Rock), soul, and psychedelic rock, blending classic vibes with modern sensibilities.

Despite being a relatively new band, brkfstblend quickly built momentum with a nationwide tour of ten cities in Japan within their first six months. Their releases, including “City Habits,” “Fever,” and “2am,” showcase a smooth, groovy style that echoes the golden era of AOR while incorporating their unique contemporary twist. The band has been praised for filling a creative niche in Japanese music by drawing on traditional rock instrumentation with a soulful, melodic approach that feels warmly familiar yet freshly engaging.
