Skegss is an Australian surf music and garage rock band hailing from Byron Bay, New South Wales. The trio consists of Ben Ben Bograil (vocals/guitar), Toby Cregan (bass), and Jonny Lani (drums). Their music embodies the carefree and spirited lifestyle of coastal living, resonating with fans through its raw energy and infectious melodies. Since forming in 2013, Skegss has gained a devout following with their raucous live shows and relatable lyrics, encompassing themes of youth, indifference, and the pursuit of good times.
Skegss burst into the Australian music scene with their debut EP, "Holiday Food," in 2017 and followed it up with their first full-length album, "My Own Mess," in 2018. Their sound is characterized by gritty guitar riffs, catchy hooks, and a laid-back attitude that is both introspective and outwardly rebellious. Building upon their success, they released "Rehearsal" in 2021, an album that includes tracks like "Valhalla" and "Fantasising," further showcasing their ability to blend high-energy punk influences with melodic surf rock. Their infectious single, "Got On My Skateboard," and the fervent performance captured on "Triple J Live at the Wireless - Laneway 2019" have solidified their status as mainstays in the indie and garage rock scene, both in Australia and internationally.
