Wataru Hisasue

Wataru Hisasue is a distinguished Japanese pianist born in Kyoto in 1994, known for his captivating performances across Europe and Japan. He has won numerous prestigious awards, including second prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2025, third prize and special recognition at the 66th ARD International Music Competition, and multiple special prizes at the 2024 Concours Géza Anda. Hisasue has studied with acclaimed teachers such as Klaus Hellwig in Berlin, Pascal Devoyon, and Emmanuel Strosser, and his musical education spans institutions in Freiburg, Paris, and Berlin. He is especially passionate about 20th and 21st-century music and has played with renowned orchestras like the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Brussels Philharmonic under leading conductors.

Hisasue has performed at major venues and festivals, including the Konzerthaus Berlin, Mozartfest Würzburg, and the Schwetzingen SWR Festival.
