Power Trip

Power Trip emerged from the rich heavy music underground of Texas, carving out a niche for themselves with a contemporary twist on classic thrash and crossover thrash metals. Formed in 2008, the band quickly gained notoriety for their raw, relentless energy and a ferocious live presence. Comprised of Riley Gale on vocals, Blake Ibanez and Nick Stewart on guitars, Chris Ulsh on drums, and Chris Whetzel on bass, they breathed new life into the genre with a modern hardcore punk attitude.

Their discography showcases a fierce commitment to their aggressive sound, with "Manifest Decimation" in 2013 laying a formidable foundation. The critically acclaimed follow-up, "Nightmare Logic," was released in 2017 and further solidified their status as a formidable force within the metal scene, capturing the attention of fans and critics alike. This album, along with the non-album singles like "Hornet's Nest" and intense live recordings like "Live In Seattle", highlighted the band's ability to straddle the lines between thrash metal ferocity and punk’s rawness, earning them a dedicated following eager for their electrifying performances where they swung 'the Executioner's Tax' with visceral precision. Sadly, the band faced a tragic loss in 2020 with the untimely passing of frontman Riley Gale, which has left the future of the band uncertain. Power Trip, however, remains a significant part of the metal music conversation, with their blistering sound and uncompromising vision still resonating with fans across the globe.
