Diima is a producer, mix engineer, and Bissau-Guinean singer-songwriter known for his versatility and genre-blending sound. He is the CEO and founder of the music label Bissilon Sound, based in Bissau. Growing up in a multicultural family, Diima spent his early childhood between Ukraine and Russia, where he was first introduced to music at the age of four through his father’s diverse record collection. After his family relocated during the 1998 Civil War in Guinea-Bissau, they moved to Dakar, Senegal, and later back to Ukraine, where Diima began crafting beats on a Sony PlayStation. Upon returning to Guinea-Bissau, he founded the rap group “Barudjo Rap,” fusing hip-hop with African music, and has since collaborated with numerous national and international artists, including Eneida Marta, Cotche T, Werton, Charline Vaz, Vida Gomes, Klash, and Patche di Rima. His 2020 album “Korson Di Tambur” features 22 tracks and showcases his talent for blending rhythms and styles.
