Paolo Carignani is an Italian conductor who has made a name for himself in the world of opera. Born in Milan in 1961, Carignani studied music at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and began his career as a répétiteur at La Scala. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming music director of the Teatro Regio di Parma in 1991 and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in 1997. Carignani has conducted some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He is known for his passionate and energetic performances, and his interpretations of Verdi and Puccini are particularly acclaimed.
