Ugly Mac Beer

Ugly Mac Beer is a French DJ, turntablist, and music composer who began his career in the late 1990s as part of the group "La Formule" alongside Wax Tailor. He transitioned to a solo career in the 2000s, establishing himself as a key figure in the turntablism and scratch music scene in France. Ugly Mac Beer is also the founder of Beatsqueeze Records, a label through which he has produced and collaborated on numerous projects. His collaborations include work with notable artists such as MF Grimm, Kool Keith, and Psycho Les of The Beatnuts. In recent years, he has expanded his creative scope to include composing music for film, drawing inspiration from television, pop culture, movies, and music.

Ugly Mac Beer's recent work includes the release of the album "The Valley of the Kings," which features a collection of obscure samples repurposed into heavy boom bap instrumentals, inspired by 90s productions from artists like Madlib and DJ Shadow. His music often reflects a deep appreciation for hip-hop and its cultural influences, blending elements of breakbeat and boom bap with eclectic samples.
