Adam Litovitz

Adam Litovitz was a Canadian musician and composer, best known for his work in film scores and as a member of the band Jooj. Born on August 16, 1982, he was the son of poet Malca Litovitz and architect Allan Litovitz. Adam collaborated extensively with his partner, Sook-Yin Lee, on both music and film projects. Together, they released two albums as Jooj: *JOOJ* and the posthumous *jooj two*. Litovitz also composed scores for Lee's films, including *Year of the Carnivore* and *Octavio Is Dead*, earning him a Genie Award nomination and a Canadian Screen Award nomination, respectively. He was a versatile artist who also worked as a writer and visual artist.

Adam Litovitz passed away on June 16, 2019, at the age of 36. His legacy continues through his creative contributions, including his work with Jooj and his film scores. Despite his untimely passing, his music and collaborations remain celebrated for their depth and innovation.
