Henny Vrienten was a Dutch musician, best known as the frontman and bassist for the influential ska/reggae band Doe Maar, which became one of the most popular bands in the Netherlands during the early 1980s. With his sharply written Dutch-language lyrics and genre-blending sound, Vrienten helped shape the landscape of Dutch pop music. He was also a prolific composer, contributing music for films, television shows, and theater productions throughout his career.
