The Dillards were an American bluegrass band formed in 1963 in Salem, Missouri. The band consisted of brothers Rodney and Douglas Dillard, along with Mitch Jayne and Dean Webb. The Dillards were known for their innovative and eclectic sound, which blended bluegrass with elements of folk, rock, and country. They released a number of successful albums in the 1960s and 1970s, including "Wheatstraw Suite" (1968) and "Copperfields" (1970). The band also appeared on the popular television show "The Andy Griffith Show" and in the film "Deliverance" (1972). The Dillards disbanded in 1975, but they reunited in the 1980s and continued to perform and record until Rodney Dillard's death in 2019.
