Mayday Parade is an American rock band that hails from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in 2005 when members of two local bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment, merged. Comprising Derek Sanders (vocals), Brooks Betts (guitar), Alex Garcia (guitar), Jeremy Lenzo (bass), and Jake Bundrick (drums), the group quickly made a name for themselves with their emotive brand of pop-punk and rock. Known for their energetic live performances and deeply personal lyrics, Mayday Parade hit the ground running with their debut EP "Tales Told by Dead Friends" in 2006, and gained widespread popularity with their first full-length album, "A Lesson in Romantics," the following year.
Over the years, Mayday Parade has consistently released music that resonates with a dedicated fanbase. Among their discography are albums such as "Anywhere But Here," "Monsters in the Closet," and "Sunnyland" that showcase their maturation both lyrically and musically. The band marked their foray into the next chapter of their career with releases like "Out Of Here," a 2020 EP, and their 2021 album "What It Means To Fall Apart," which presents a matured sound while staying true to the heart-on-sleeve storytelling that has charmed their fans from the beginning. Reflective of their musical journey, Mayday Parade also offers acoustic renditions and live sessions like "Live At Screaming Eagle" and "I'm With You - Acoustic - Live," continuing to demonstrate their versatility and connection with their audience.
