Thief Club

Thief Club is the indie-rock brainchild of Brett Detar, best known as the former frontman of early 2000s alternative group The Juliana Theory. After stepping back from the spotlight to focus on film/TV scoring, Detar quietly launched Thief Club in 2014 as a DIY outlet for his introspective songwriting, blending moody melodies with raw, nostalgic energy. The project gained traction through Bandcamp releases and intimate shows, with recent tracks like "Bitter Blue," "Death Valley Super Bloom," and "Newark Mansions" showcasing his knack for blending shoegaze-tinged atmospherics with punchy, emotionally charged hooks. While maintaining a low-key profile, Thief Club’s catalog—including 2020’s *Bitter Blue* LP and 2023’s *Death Valley Super Bloom* EP—has solidified Detar’s status as a veteran artist still evolving his sound on his own terms.
