Celestial Sanctuary is a gnarly death metal crew from England bringing that classic '90s HM-2 chainsaw buzz into the modern era. Formed around 2018, these UK riff merchants dropped their debut album *Soul Diminished* in 2021, quickly becoming flagbearers of the New Wave of Old School Death Metal movement. Their 2024 sophomore slab *Insatiable Thirst For Torment* doubled down on their signature mix of rotting atmosphere, caveman grooves, and lyrics about bodily decay that'd make a mortician blush. Known for their swampy live shows and split releases (like their *Trapped Within The Rank Membrane* collaboration), they've built a rep for delivering unapologetically raw, meat-and-potatoes death metal with track titles that read like autopsy reports. Their discography reads like a love letter to tape-trading culture, complete with live recordings and redux versions keeping that underground spirit alive.
