Scissor Sisters

Scissor Sisters is an American pop/rock band formed in 2001, influenced by the glam rock of David Bowie and Elton John, as well as the dance-pop sensibilities of disco and electroclash. Originating from New York City, the group achieved fame with their flamboyant style and catchy tunes that blend the energy of the city's vibrant underground club scene with accessible pop hooks and irreverent lyrics. The band's core members include Jake Shears (vocals), Ana Matronic (vocals), Babydaddy (bass guitar), Del Marquis (guitar), and Randy Real (drums).

The band received international recognition with their self-titled debut album 'Scissor Sisters' (2004), which spawned the hit single "Take Your Mama" and became the best-selling album of 2004 in the UK. Their follow-up album, 'Ta Dah' (2006), continued their success and featured the chart-topping single "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'". Known for their distinctly eclectic and energetic live performances, Scissor Sisters have consistently pushed the boundaries of pop music, blending rock, disco, and dance influences into a uniquely glitzy and fun sound. With albums like 'Night Work' (2010) and 'Magic Hour' (2012), the group has continued to evolve their style while maintaining the contagious energy that has won them fans worldwide. Despite a hiatus from recording and touring, the release of tracks like "SWERLK" and its subsequent remixes demonstrate the band's enduring appeal and influence on the contemporary music landscape.
