Terraphobia is an Australian thrash metal band initially formed by Michael Jelinic in the late 1980s. The name Terraphobia translates to fear of Earth, reflecting the band's lyrically dark themes often exploring the human condition and its contradictions. Over the years, the band has gone through periods of dormancy and revival with various lineup changes.

The founder, Michael Jelinic, is also known for his tenure with the Christian power metal band Mortification beginning in the early 2000s, which influenced some of Terraphobia's later material. After a substantial hiatus, Terraphobia was reinvigorated by Jelinic in the 2010s, merging elements of death and thrash metal with intense technical proficiency. The band's discography, including "Evilution" and "Terrafication: The Mort Years", demonstrates this mix, with the latter being a nod to Jelinic's history with Mortification. "Eschaton" and both albums named "Rise", along with "Screams from Hell", feature aggressive riffs, complex guitar work, and a blend of growled and clean vocals catering to the tastes of fans of extreme metal genres.
