Vincent Dumestre
Vincent Dumestre is a French lutenist and conductor who's made a big splash in the world of early music. He founded the ensemble Le Poème Harmonique in 1998, and they've been wowing audiences ever since with their performances of Baroque music. Dumestre is especially known for his interpretations of 17th-century French repertoire, but as you can see from his recent releases, he's not afraid to tackle Italian masters like Monteverdi too. He's got a knack for bringing old music to life in a way that feels fresh and exciting, whether he's conducting operas by Lully or exploring lesser-known works from the period.
