Arismar do Espírito Santo is a highly versatile Brazilian musician born on July 9, 1956, in Santos, São Paulo. He is a multi-instrumentalist, with the double bass being his primary instrument, but he also plays the guitar, violão, piano, and drums. Arismar's musical style seamlessly blends genres such as jazz, samba, choro, and rock, showcasing his adaptability and skill across different styles. He has collaborated with notable Brazilian artists like Hermeto Pascoal, Toninho Horta, and César Camargo Mariano during the 1970s. In 1993, he released his first solo album, which was re-released in 2003 under the title *Arismar do Espírito Santo: 10 Anos*. In 1998, he was recognized as one of the top ten guitarists in Brazil by *Guitar Player* magazine.
Arismar comes from a musical family; his mother, Aracy Lima, was a singer, and his brother Paulo Roberto is a musician and arranger. His son, Thiago Espírito Santo, is a double bassist, and his daughter, Bia Goes, is a singer.
