Extraliscio is a wildly inventive band from Italy that blends the traditional sounds of liscio—an Italian style of ballroom folk music—with everything from punk rock to electronic and experimental influences. Formed by Mirco Mariani along with iconic liscio pioneers Moreno il Biondo and Mauro Ferrara, Extraliscio brings a fresh, anarchic spirit to the dance halls. They're known for their exuberant live performances and genre-bending albums that simultaneously honor and revolutionize the rich heritage of Italian folk music.
The group caught major attention with their album È bello perdersi and their participation in the 2021 Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Bianca Luce Nera," featuring Davide Toffolo of Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti. Extraliscio's fearless mash-up of old and new styles has earned them a dedicated following among both traditionalists and indie music fans, marking them as key figures in Italy's modern music renaissance.
