Paranoid Visions

Paranoid Visions are a legendary Irish punk band hailing from Dublin, formed in the early 1980s as a raucous response to societal tensions and political unrest. Often dubbed Ireland’s answer to Crass or Dead Kennedys, their sound blends raw anarcho-punk energy with darkly witty lyrics tackling corruption, inequality, and counterculture defiance. Fronted by the iconic duo of vocalist Deko (Paulie) and guitarist Dez, the band carved out a fiercely DIY ethos, self-releasing chaotic early material and becoming stalwarts of Ireland’s underground scene. After a hiatus in the late ’80s, they stormed back in the 2000s, proving their relevance with albums like *Adverse Reality* and *Rebellion*, while recent releases like *Forty Years and Still Not Tame* (2023) celebrate their unapologetic longevity. Still snarling after four decades, their politically charged anthems—from pandemic critiques (*Corona-Verse Reality*) to scathing social commentary (*Back to Normal*)—remain as vital as ever. A mix of Oi!-infused punk and gothy post-punk grit, Paranoid Visions continue to rally misfits and malcontents worldwide.
