**Christopher Martin** is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer-songwriter born on February 14, 1987, in St. Catherine. He grew up in Back Pasture, attending Watermount All-Age School and St. Jago High School, where he racked up singing awards, including a Gold Medal at the 2005 Jamaica National Skills competition. His big break came in 2005 when he won Digicel's *Rising Stars*—Jamaica's take on *American Idol*—launching hits like "Love Is All We Need," "Giving It," and "Jamaican Girls," making him the first alum to chart in Jamaica.
