Antena
Antena was a French-Belgian synth-pop group led by Isabelle Antena (real name Isabelle Powaga), who gained cult status in the early 1980s for their breezy fusion of samba, bossa nova, and minimalist electronic pop. Originally starting as a side project of the band Antena, which morphed into her solo alias, Isabelle Antena's music has had a lasting influence on balearic and lounge scenes. Their 1982 mini-album Camino Del Sol, released on the pioneering Belgian label Les Disques du Crépuscule, has become a cult classic, blending jazzy rhythms with early synth experimentation in a way that was ahead of its time.
Over the years, Antena's music has seen a number of reissues and remixes, including updated editions of Camino Del Sol and En Cavale, introducing their unique chillwave-meets-bossa sound to new generations. The group's elegant, cosmopolitan vibe continues to resonate with fans of electronic music, nu-jazz, and retro-futuristic pop.
