Alexander Tsfasman was a Soviet composer, pianist, and conductor who lived from 1906 to 1971. He is best known for his jazz compositions and arrangements, which were popular in the Soviet Union during the 1930s and 1940s. Tsfasman's music was often infused with elements of Russian folk music, and he was a pioneer in the development of Soviet jazz. He composed over 200 songs, many of which became hits, and he also wrote music for films and theater productions.
