Jim Kweskin

Jim Kweskin is a folk and jug band revivalist best known as the leader of the Jim Kweskin Jug Band, a seminal group from the 1960s folk revival scene. With roots in traditional American music, Kweskin's band blended early jazz, ragtime, country blues, and folk with a loose, good-time spirit that won over audiences and influenced future generations of roots musicians. The group featured notable performers like Geoff Muldaur and Maria Muldaur, and they were celebrated for their lively performances and a repertoire that honored classic Americana while keeping it fresh and playful.

After the original jug band split, Kweskin continued to perform and record, both solo and with various collaborators, maintaining his passion for classic American styles. He’s known for his warm stage presence, authenticity, and dedication to the preservation of folk traditions. Whether he's performing vintage tunes or original songs, Jim Kweskin has remained a beloved figure in the American roots music scene for decades.
