Leoš Čepický

Leoš Čepický is a Czech violinist and chamber musician celebrated for his technical precision and expressive interpretations of classical repertoire. Active since the 1990s, he’s best known as a founding member and first violinist of the Pražák Quartet, a group acclaimed for its recordings of Czech composers like Dvořák and Martinů. Beyond chamber music, Čepický shines as a soloist, with recent projects highlighting his affinity for Bach’s solo violin works (like his "Sonatas and Partitas" releases) and collaborations with artists like cellist Michal Kaňka and pianist Petr Klánský. His recordings often explore lesser-known Czech composers such as Krček and Sommer, blending reverence for tradition with fresh energy. When not performing, Čepický shares his expertise as a professor at Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts, mentoring the next generation of string players.
