A Great Big Pile of Leaves

A Great Big Pile of Leaves is an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, known for their upbeat, math-rock-influenced sound and nostalgic, summery vibe. The group was formed in 2007 by singer/guitarist Pete Weiland and drummer Tyler Soucy, later expanding to include additional members over time. They gained attention with their early DIY EPs, The Fiery Works I and II, before releasing their debut full-length, Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortex?, in 2010.

Their follow-up albums—You're Always on My Mind (2013) and Pono (2021)—further developed their laid-back yet rhythmically intricate style, drawing comparisons to bands like Minus the Bear and American Football. Known for clever lyrics and dynamic guitar work, A Great Big Pile of Leaves has carved out a loyal following in the emo revival and indie rock scenes.
