Nick Finzer

Nick Finzer is an acclaimed jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator known for his distinctive voice on the trombone and his dedication to pushing jazz forward. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Finzer has gained recognition for blending traditional jazz influences with modern sensibilities, crafting music that is both rooted in swing and forward-looking in its compositional approach. He's released several albums as a bandleader, including We the People and The Guru, which showcase his dynamic writing and the strong chemistry of his ensembles.

Beyond his work as a performer, Finzer is also active in jazz education and advocacy. He co-founded the record label Outside in Music, which supports emerging jazz artists, and he frequently presents clinics and workshops to help the next generation of jazz musicians develop their skills. Whether performing with his own bands or collaborating with other leading figures in jazz, Nick Finzer continues to be a passionate voice in today's jazz scene.
