Luis Enrique Mejía Godoy is a Nicaraguan singer-songwriter and political activist known for his socially conscious lyrics and fusion of traditional folk music with rock and pop elements. Born in 1945, he is the son of renowned poet and musician Carlos Mejía Godoy. Luis Enrique's music often addresses themes of social justice, human rights, and the struggles of the Nicaraguan people. He has released numerous albums throughout his career, including "Canciones Vandálicas" (1979) and "Amando en Tiempo de Guerra" (1985), which became anthems for the Sandinista Revolution.
