Scary Kids Scaring Kids (SKSK) was an influential American post-hardcore band that formed in Gilbert, Arizona in 2002. Known for their emotional intensity and energetic live performances, the group initially burst onto the scene with their debut EP, "After Dark," which they released while members were still attending high school. The band's dynamic sound, characterized by heavy, melodic guitars, potent screaming and singing, and urgent lyrics, resonated with fans of the post-hardcore genre. As the band members matured, they honed their craft and expanded their reach, releasing their first full-length album, "The City Sleeps in Flames," in 2005.
SKSK showed continued growth and versatility with their self-titled second album, "Scary Kids Scaring Kids," which dropped in 2007, further cementing their place in the post-hardcore milieu. However, despite their growing fanbase and critical acclaim, the band announced they would be disbanding in 2010, much to the disappointment of their dedicated followers. They initiated a farewell tour, offering a closing chapter to their passionate performances and connection with fans. After a hiatus, the band reunited for a 15th-anniversary tour of "The City Sleeps in Flames" in late 2019. Cementing their legacy as an emo and post-hardcore pillar, Scary Kids Scaring Kids' music continues to inspire a new generation of listeners with its emotive and unyielding fervor, especially showcased in songs from their later releases, such as "Out of Light" and "Loved Forever."
