Dark Star

**Dark Star** was a killer English psychedelic rock band that lit up London's scene back in 1996, with Christian Hayes on vocals and guitar, David Francolini smashing the drums, and Laurence O'Keefe holding it down on bass. They cranked out trippy alternative and indie vibes, dropping their debut album *Twenty Twenty Sound* in 1999—recorded live in one go with producer Steve Lillywhite for that raw, real energy Hayes loved.

The crew kept the hits coming with EPs like *Graceadelica* and singles such as "About 3am," but they wrapped up around 2001. Post-split, the guys spread their wings—Francolini built a studio and jammed with Dragons, while Hayes gigged with Pet Shop Boys and dug into solo archive stuff as Mikrokosmos.
