Seven Thorns

Seven Thorns is a Danish power metal band known for delivering high-energy melodies infused with classic metal elements. Emerging from a country more renowned for its melodic death and heavy metal scenes, Seven Thorns carves a distinctive niche with their progressive and symphonic power metal sound. The band was originally formed in 1998 by guitarist Lars Borup, however, it didn't cement its presence in the metal world until their resurrection in 2007 when guitarist Gabriel Tuxen took over the helm.

The band's journey through power metal is marked by their narrative-driven compositions and dynamic guitar work, often compared to genre giants like Helloween and Stratovarius. Over the years, Seven Thorns has undergone several lineup changes which have led to evolution in their sound, achieving a blend of virtuosic instrumentation and memorable hooks. Notable releases include their 2010 full-length debut "Return to the Past," which set the stage for their epic storytelling and soaring guitar solos, followed by "II" solidifying their presence in the power metal community. Their continued exploration of dark and fantastical themes is evident in singles like "Black Fortress" and albums such as "Symphony of Shadows," showcasing the band's matured songwriting and refined sense of composition, which captures the grandeur and intensity of the power metal genre.
